BREEDING DO's and DON'T

First and foremost sow's can't be bred below 4 months of age. The correct breeding weight is 750 grams up, while boars can't be bred below 3 months of age with the weight of 700 grams up.

Breeding intervals/ rest and recovery: A Gestation period of 2 months will be the big wait before the pups emerge from the womb of the sow, then 3 weeks to 1 month of milk suckling/ weaning. Then a 2 MONTH rest will be required before the sow can be bred again.

Do not breed longhaird cavies to short haird cavies and vice versa
